It is a compound designed with a selective mechanism of action. Its main function is to bind to the MDM2 protein, which is abnormally expressed in the cell membrane of tumor cells. By binding to it, PNC-27 alters the physical integrity of this membrane, inducing the formation of pores and causing cell lysis (destruction of the damaged cell) through necrosis, without affecting surrounding healthy cells.
